Differences and relations between digital printing, dye-sublimation printing and thermal transfer printing

Dear readers, hello everybody, this post was written because of some of the problems that guests often mentioned in fabric printing work, and share it with everyone.

Digital printing

Many people believe that digital printing is digital direct injection, strictly speaking, but also different, but different direct injection media and ink, the following we have to subdivide: First of all, look at the specific fabric, cotton and linen hemp Or nylon type can be directly printed on the fabric with active and acid ink directly through the computer's pattern output, while the polyester type fabric is first printed on the special paper through the computer output, and then through high temperature and high pressure. The pattern is transferred to the fabric.

Sublimation printing

The paper transfer printing in digital printing can also be called dye sublimation printing and is one of thermal transfer printing. The dye-sublimation printing also includes paper printing in digital printing and transfer printing in open printing.

the difference:

Digital-type paper printing is mainly for patterns with many colors, less orders, more sizes, and sizes that cannot be used in common. It uses computerized color tones, which is flexible in production, faster in sample production, has no color restrictions, and has no plate fees. However, the unit price is also relatively high;
The thermal transfer printing of the open type is mainly for those with large orders, at least 1000 meters or more, size code can share the pattern, it is using artificial color, can do up to 8 colors, more color restrictions, plate fee Higher, but the unit price is cheaper.

Thermal transfer printing:

There are mainly two kinds of thermal transfer printing that I come into contact with: one is the thermal transfer of paper, and the other is the transfer printing of plastic films.

Same point:

Both are the first to make the pattern in a material and transfer it to the fabric through high temperature and pressure.

the difference:

The transfer materials used for the two are different, one is transferred to the film, and the other is sublimated by high temperature and high pressure gas.

The above is my opinion on some prints. I hope that my friend will not hesitate to enlighten me.
