Difference Between UV Ink ,Water-based Ink And Eco-solvent Ink

Inkjet printing with a wide range of ink. Even solvent-based inks, there are dozens of subdivided up. According to the nature of the ink, the current domestic market, the ink is divided into three categories: UV ink, solvent-based ink, water-based ink.

In terms of the current field of inkjet printing, these three types of ink are different, each with its usefulness. In a certain period of time will coexist for a long time.

1. UV ink

UV ink has a unique curing method, that is, do not rely on penetration and evaporation and rapid curing, inkjet printing has been widely used. UV ink has three characteristics: energy-saving drying, the substrate has a wide range of printability (almost all the materials printed on), fast curability can shorten the follow-up time.

But the UV ink price is expensive, the cost is too high, which directly affects the printing price of UV printing equipment. There is also a potential problem with inkjet printing of UV inks, that is, to keep the density of the UV light in the actual curing of the ink and from the print head when the same, otherwise it will destroy the entire production process. UV ink softness is not good, if the curl over, it will break; and its price is higher than the solvent-based ink.

On the market, the current inkjet printing in the field of printing is mainly a small number of small graphics, image printing. Because the number of printed copies is small, the ink and the substrate control is small, can play the advantages of UV ink printing. The real advantage of UV ink is that it can be instantaneously dried in the long press. Because of this, UV inks are likely to be the preferred choice for high-speed inkjet printing, especially when the inkjet process enters lithography, such as packaging and printing. From the environmental protection, substrate adaptability point of view, UV ink is likely to become the future of large format color market mainstream.

2. Water-based ink

Water-based ink is mainly water as solvent, with ink stability, high brightness, strong coloring, strong adhesion after India, dry speed adjustable, strong water resistance and so on. Compared with other printing inks, because the water-based ink does not contain volatile organic organic solvents, so the printing process of the operator's health without adverse effects on the atmospheric environment and the print itself is not pollution. As the ink has a non-flammable characteristics, but also eliminate the hidden flammable and explosive hazards, improve the printing environment, is conducive to safe production.

However, the current water-based ink is still a certain technical limitations, its printing performance and quality are not up to solvent-based ink standards. The current water-based ink is not alkali, not anti-ethanol and water, slow drying, poor gloss, easy to cause paper shrinkage and other defects. This is mainly due to the high surface tension of water, resulting in difficult to wet the ink, dry and slow.

Ink is difficult to wet and print on many substrates, and the printing speed is affected by the fact that the printing equipment is equipped with sufficient drying equipment. In addition, the ink gloss is lower than the solvent-based ink, which also greatly limits the ink in the high gloss requirements of the occasion to use.

In terms of the market, water-based ink and paper-based substrates occupy the major market share of large format inkjet. And the digital inkjet market has shown the trend that water-based inks have a tendency to shift to solvent-based inks, and the development of water-based inks will slow, and solvent-based inks and environmentally friendly solvent inks will be further developed.

3. Solvent-based ink

In the field of inkjet, solvent-based ink can adapt to a variety of printing materials, and the use of printing materials prices are relatively cheap. In particular, the outdoor image has a better durability, and its price is lower than the water-based ink, and it does not need to film, improve production efficiency. Solvent-based inkjet printers have opened up billboards, body advertisements and all areas where previous printing is not possible.

However, the solvent ink is the disadvantage of its drying process, through the evaporation of the solvent to the air emissions of harmful substances, affecting indoor and outdoor air quality. Although the solvent-based ink is faster than the water-based ink drying, it does take some time.

In terms of the market, solvent-based ink in a long period of time not only will not be eliminated, the proportion of the market but rapid expansion, it has more advantages to stabilize their own position. Related ink manufacturers to improve ink formulations, the introduction of environmentally friendly solvent-free solvent and environmentally friendly solvent-based inkjet printing presses, a new generation of solvent-based ink will be more perfect, the damage caused by the environment will be smaller and smaller of.

The above is about UV ink, water-based ink and solvent-based ink difference, according to their needs, choose their own ink.
