Usually, there is one or another trouble occurring to UV printers caused by irregular operations, leading to unnecessary cost. Especially when damage the printhead, what heavy losses! Therefore, Daily Maintenance has to be a vital lesson for users, particularly beginners to master.
How to protect UV printers when not used for a long time.
How to maintain printhead when removing from UV printers.
1. Print head status TEST. If the head status is not good, CLEAN the head.
2. Please use tissues to clean the capping unit and station, then put some cleaning liquid into the capping unit.
3. Use clamps to tighten the waste ink pipe. And it’s better seal the holes of ink cartridge. This is to prevent the ink flow back into printhead.
4. Click HOME, then the carriage will move to home position and automatically cap the head with capping unit.
5. Turn off emergency stop switch first, then turn off the power switch.
1. Short Period: 1~7 days
Shut down all power switch and water circulation, lock the ink cartridge valve. Remember to be away from sunlight. (UV inks will have sediments due to sunlight.)
2. Medium and long Period: 1~3 weeks
Close all power switch and water circulation, lock the ink cartridge valve. Meantime use non-woven fabrics and cleaning liquid to wipe away printhead surface to keep it wet. Also, don’t forget to be away from sunlight.
3. Long Period: more than one month
Clean the entire ink supply system (including printhead) with cleaning liquid. Then close all power switch and water circulation, lock the ink cartridge valve. Use non-woven fabrics and cleaning liquid to wipe away printhead surface to keep it wet. Also, don’t forget to be away from sunlight.

How to maintain printhead when removing from UV printing machines?
If the printer will be leave unused for a long time, you should uninstall the printhead and wrap it with cleaning solution inside.
